At ApeFest 2021, one of the first major NFT-based events in history, a new challenge presented itself with token verification and ticketing. Rather than being able to walk in and quickly verify their Bored Ape ownership, hours-long lines formed in order for Bored Ape holders to retrieve their wristbands, which were handed out by two people manning a spreadsheet.
ApeFest was not alone. This problem was rampant across events in web3. Brands and consumers wanted to get more involved, but it was frankly brutal to operate. So as entrepreneurs do, they identify a problem and build their own platform.
Being a verification layer, tokenproof needed a solution that was agnostic of the chains and wallets used to onboard users. It needed a solution that could help build the on-chain identity for web2 users but also support the web3 customers who already bought meaningful NFTs.
What was initially a search for a modal that could connect any wallet, has turned into a partnership with Dynamic that goes a step further. Every tokenproof user who doesn’t have their own wallet will now get a Dynamic Embedded Wallet. This is a huge unlock for customers but also brands who may not yet be comfortable guiding their attendees through the process of downloading their own web3 wallet.
