Football is the most popular sport in the world, with an estimated 3.5B fans globally. From major tournaments such as Euro 2024, to countless local match ups, fans everywhere rely on OneFootball. OneFootball reaches 200M+ football lovers across the world every month, providing them with scores, highlights, and the latest news covering the sport.

As part of its commitment to providing the ultimate fan experience, OneFootball introduced OneFootball Club (OFC), the first digital football club. OFC’s mission is simple: reward their users for being loyal fans and supporting their favorite teams. To accomplish this, OFC launched several unique initiatives:

1. OFC Heads: Members of OneFootball can personalize their own digital avatars for their profile, allowing them to express themselves, regardless of which team they support.
2. .football ID: To add further personalization and allow fans to compete directly with each other, OFC released decentralized identities in the form of .football IDs.
3. OFC Dashboard: The dashboard serves as each fan’s personal overview of their OFC experience and fandom. Through this dashboard, users can track their XP (Balls) and leadership progress, as well as redeem rewards.
   
   

The Challenge

OneFootball has big ambitions for the OFC. And with big ambitions, come big challenges. OneFootball Club wanted to make their fan experience as accessible as possible, while discreetly leveraging blockchain technology. On their journey, OFC needed to address the following challenges:

1. Create an immersive experience that makes the app enjoyable and also provides users with meaningful rewards
2. Allow fans to personalize their profiles in unique ways
3. Develop a frictionless user experience while taking advantage of blockchain rails
4. Provide a way for users to access the app with common login methods, as well as existing wallets

‍The Solution

To bring everything to life, Dynamic provided OneFootball with a comprehensive suite of tools for authentication and user management. By partnering with Dynamic, OFC equipped its users with the following:

• Sign in with X & Farcaster: To ensure that as many football fans as possible could enter competitions and earn rewards, Dynamic enabled OFC members to sign up and log in with only an X or Farcaster account. This allowed OFC users to benefit from a simple onboarding process, without needing to understand any elements of Web3.
• Wallet Authentication: For those with existing Web3 experience, Dynamic made it possible to seamlessly connect to OFC through an extensive list of wallets.
• Webhooks: Webhooks allow developers to automatically receive alerts about specific events happening within their Dynamic environment. In OFC’s case, Dynamic implemented Webhooks to track user signups and save this respective info in their database.
• Developer Dashboard: In addition to onboarding and login tools, Dynamic’s developer dashboard provided OFC with a customizable and comprehensive interface to manage its end-users. This dashboard permits developers to allow different levels of MFA, set roles & permissions for end-users, and much more.

The Result

OneFootball recently put this integration to the test, holding a Eurocaster competition around the Euro 2024 tournament. In partnership with Base, this challenge consisted of users choosing match winners across the tournament in order to win Balls. A contest that resulted in 67K+ players earning 1.8M trophies and 250K DEGEN tokens.

Following Eurocaster, there are many more competitions and surprises to come. Dynamic will continue to support these launches, while providing additional features and support as needed. The partnership between Dynamic and OFC is still in the early stages of the first half. Game on!
